En berøringsfri automatisk dør åpnes og lukkes uten at man trenger å berøre verken døren eller døråpneren. Den styres av sensorer som registrerer bevegelse eller nærhet, og mange har også sikkerhetssensorer som stopper eller reverserer døren hvis noe er i veien.
